As I mentioned in an earlier post, Delegate Danica Roem has been speaking out about the Trump Administration’s plans to erase the transgender community in the eyes of the federal government. This morning, she appeared on ABC 7’s Good Morning Washington to discuss the policy.
Danica focused in on how you can’t provide good constituent service if you’re spending time attacking members of the community and promoting discrimination. As an example of how you can get things done, she highlighted how 2018 was the first time in recent memory that there were no anti-LGBT bills introduced in Virginia’s General Assembly. Instead of focusing on bigotry, the General Assembly did things like expanding Medicaid and increasing teacher pay.
